Telemedicine: Co-author Wanted
A co-author to complete a manuscript on the application of the telemedicine concept to delivery of health care services to remote communities is being sought. The script is based on the Queensland Health Department's Northwest telemedicine project and covers the clinical and technical aspects of the research in some detail. What is lacking in the manuscript is a full discussion and evaluation of the potential impact of such a communication system on the health care provided for isolated communities. The Queensland project, like its North American counterparts in Sioux Lookout and the Papago Indian experiment proved to be almost impossible to evaluate in terms of cost-effectiveness. A co-author's input in this aspect of evaluation would be of great importance.
